Hi, A relative of mine started a cardigan about 12 years ago, and only recently found it in the attic half finished!
They would like to finish it but the problem is the pattern cannot be found. Does anyone have any ideas of how we might go about tracing the pattern online, is there an archive of Wendy double knit patterns, for example?

There are pages of Wendy patterns on Ravelry (free to join) and you can confine the search to cardigans if you want.
There are also many pages of Wendy patterns on Lovecrafts too.
Searches on Google may turn up more patterns. Good luck with your search.
You can also look on online yarn/pattern shops for patterns. For example I use woolwarehouse and they have lots of patterns, you can filter to Wendy . Just yesterday I discovered loads of patterns I didn’t know were there.
If you contact the yarn company, perhaps they will be able to help. You could send a photo of the project, and if your relative used the wool recommended in the pattern that might help narrow it down too.
