Lost st in lace

Im kitting my first lace dresser scarf. Everything is going fairly well, using a life line in every row right now :teehee:

My question is I lost a st somewere between the 1st and 2nd patern repeat. I figure I missed a yo.
So can I just do an increase on the purl row? I really don’t want to frog the whole thing if I don’t have to.

if you missed a YO in the pattern row - the easiest fix ifson the purl row to lift the bar between the stitches onto the left needle and then knit it as the YO. You do NOT want to knit into the back of it or you will close it up.

Thankyou MMario

Man, they wern’t kidding when they said lace is difficult!

Holy cow, I go from it’s going great, to I think I f***ed it up again!!

I ended up not losing that st after all it was on my life line just not on the needle so I just picked it up when I got to it. I was so happy!

Now I think I’m back to I think I f***ed it up again! it’s only 3 rows after I found the lost stitch!!! Now it lookes like…oh hell I don’t know, just wrong!
If I frog at this point I will hafta start over cuz my life line is in the last row only and that’s the one I think I screwed up!

If nothing else I now understand why you leave more than one line in your work.

Possible help…I am working my first lace scarf too…Branching Out. It has 10 different rows. Someone here said to write each row on a 3 x 5 card; did that, but I was still missing stuff. Put the question out here again and got an idea from someone to underline small portions (3 or 4 sts) in different colors on the card. Worked like a charm! You see it in chunks and remember where you were… Best of luck!

oh that sounds good…It is hard to keep track looking at the fine print in the book.
Thanks Knitnite!
