just pulled out a project after letting it languish in a corner for a few months. i cannot remember where i was – which row of the cable pattern i was on…it is a 16 row repeat of four cables across 54 stitches… any tips or tricks to help me find my way back! each attempt has been amiss… since it is silk yarn, each undoing leaves a halo effect . . . . sigh. since i lost my notes about where i left off. . . . your experience is welcome – please advise…
thanks
just me
Try to read the knitting in the last row you did, and then see where that is in your pattern instructions. Count out the next instructions as you look at each stitch you have and see if it will fit into what you have.
Is it four different cables that each use 16 rows in their repeats or is it just one cable repeated 4 times? How often are the cables twisted?
You may need to give us the cable repeat and maybe a close up of the last row and the cable you have done so far would help. I think I could do this if I had it in hand but over the internet is a bit harder.
