I should’ve brought my camera, because it was like heaven on earth! But there should be pictures in the next Windy City Knitting GUild newsletter. There were mountains of sock yarn, heaped on several tables. A full table of worsted and sport weight, and some Helen’s lace and Lion & Lamb. The lace and L&L went FAST though - I was in the first group and it was all gone by the time I got there.
Man, am I glad I went on a yarn diet for the past month or so, cuz I spent almost $200. So what did I get?
:notworthy: Wow. What a great find. You must just be bouncing off the walls from happiness. I know I would be. lol. The colors are beautiful and I’m sure that yarn feels like heaven to touch. I don’t think I would be able to handle all the yarn around me. I’d go crazy from the little yarn voices saying “Knit me!” “No, knit me!” “Look at me, I’m pretty, knit me instead”
Ahoy, me thinks I spy the Black Pearl I’ve been drooling over to make my husband a sweater. If only he looks like Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp when it’s finished.
You made out like a bandit! I mean PIRATE! ARGGGGGGGGHH!
Just what I was thinking! That yarn must have been really cheap (like at least 50% off) to get so much for under $200. But how in the world are you going to knit up all the sock yarn!? You should bring some to hand out to us at Friday knit night, you know, so we can help you out. And to think, you went so early and the L&L and lace was still sold out. Knitters are like groupies and famous yarns are the rock stars. I wonder did the people who got the stuff camp out over night. :??
I think Beth Casey said it was either 40% or 60% off, I can’t remember which.
Yeah, I’ll, uh, take that into consideration. <backing away slowly, holding yarn very close>.
Actually, it’s my fault. I was so absorbed in the sock and worsted weight stuff that I didn’t make it over to that table for awhile. By that time, all the good stuff was gone. My friend got a lovely skein of Helen’s Lace, and someone else got some Lion & Lamb, but I missed out. Oh well. I’m not too crushed, to tell you the truth. I really wanted the worsted stuff, but now that I have it, I can’t settle on a pattern! Argh!
