How do you prevent the first stitch of a new row from being such a large loop instead of the size of all the other stitches? If that makes sense.
Try slipping the first stitch of every row, so it’s only knit every second row. That should make the first stitch of the row make less loopy.
Slipping the first stitch doesn’t work for me - they end up messier and looser than regular knitting. So I work the first st normally, then pull the yarn a little bit before doing the next st and work that a little tighter. Does very well at firming up the edge stitches.
You know what…after a few rows those loops just blend in. I don’t know why, but it seems to work for me.
Yeah, that too. They’re more noticeable on the first row or two, but after that, they’re not so visible.
