Loop stitch

How do you make the loops like you see on a scarf, looks like a long string of looped thread. Erma :??

I have gotten pretty good at doing this stitch, however…I can’t seem to make the edges straight. I can’t get one of the edges straight. I can’t seem to figure out why. it curves and looks like every row is longer and longer.

I just keep getting frustrated with this one.[/i]

There was recently a post about the same thing. No one came up with a sure fire solution, but Marni suggested maybe knitting a selvedge of a couple of stitches.
