Loop stitch trouble

I’ve followed the video to do the loop stitch, but I’m wanting to do the stitch on both sides as I’m making a scarf. When I’m working a row, I can’t seem to keep the beginning of the row from loosening significantly. When I try to adjust it, I end up messing up the row before it. I’ve copied exactly what’s shown in the video except that I"m looping both sides. Has anyone else had trouble with this??

I’ve never even tried this stitch before, so I’m afraid I can’t help. Bumping again for you!

It may be that the look cannot be worked in the first or last stitch. Try doing a one or two stitch selvage.
