Hi Everyone! So I’m new to knitting and I’m not into the needles really. The first time I tried it took hours to make rows that where so tiny it looks like 2 not 6 lol. So now I have a love for looms along with my crocheting I already do. I’m wondering how to loom socks.I’m confused by the ones I’m seeing with the toe up tutorials. I did find another one I’m trying to do, I’ll post the video below. But I’m doing a garter stitch with it not with what’s in the video. I’m trying to make mid-leg socks for my mother. I am wondering if I just make a tube for the foot, then the heel, then the tube part for the leg, then stitch up the toe part? Sorry if this sounds confusing. here’s a few pictures of what i have so far and that video.
Hmm…you might be able to make tube socks with a loom, but to create the same sort of fitted heel and toe might be difficult if not impossible with that type loom.
hmmm I’m probably wording it wrong lol. I’m just wondering how to make socks with it. So far I have that much done by the video it shows as you make more and it moves down that part I’m making is the leg. then I have to make the heel and the foot part.
IF I were to try loom knitting a sock I would find a tutorial that I thought I liked and follow it exactly. That one shows a short row heel, no gusset, pretty basic. The toe is Kitchener stitched to the foot on one side. You should be able to make a sock as shown.
ETA I was watching the video in your link and I missed that you had posted again. I guess I’m not at all sure what you’re trying to figure out. If you follow the video you should get a sock with a short row heel and a toe.
