My landlord stopped by last night to make some repairs, and saw me spinning. He asked if I would be interested in a loom. He bought it for his wife 30 yrs ago when they got married but he never put it together for her. It is still in the box. It is a Harrisville 22 inch loom. He is back today to continue work, and brought me the manual for the loom. I haven’t had a chance to discuss pricing, but he said that he paid $200 for it. Now, I don’t think he could possibly ask more than the $200 he originally paid for it…do you? (it is $996 on the website.) But I am hoping he would ask for less, although $200 would be a steal. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? Is this a good product? Here is the paper that he has for the loom also.
I don’t know much about that loom brand, but I have a loom myself and I weave more than I knit now. I have a 36" Leclerc loom myself. From the pictures it looks like a Jack type loom which is good you can do pattern’s that are not balanced. I bought my loom used and it came with the bench and 4 reeds, the threading hook, all the heddles, 2 shuttles, 5 bobbins, and some lease sticks and I paid $300. I also noticed that the loom on the website has 6 treddles, but the one in the picture only has 4.
I know this is a little off topic, but I thought I would show you a picture of the teatowels I made my grandma for Christmas. They were done using 2/8 cotton and the Finnish Twill pattern.
