Looking for yarn

I am wanting to knit this sweater for my husband.

I can’t seem to find the yarn they are suggesting anywhere, even on line. Plus, I am not sure if I can afford it once I do find it (the name makes it sound expensive  ). Does anyone know of a similar yarn that I might be able to use that won’t break the bank? Thanks!!

i would think the nearly 21 skeins of it would make it seem expensive! not sure where to find it though i feel like i have seen it in my LYS. googling doesn’t work either…unless you speak those languages that come up…which i barely speak english most days!

From what I can find, it’s a worsted weight wool/silk blend. Knitpicks Andean Silk is a worsted weight wool/silk/alpaca blend. It should work just fine for Leo. I found a blog that said a size M with the reccomended yarn would cost about $150! wow, that’s a lot. I would get 25 balls of the Andean silk for the XXL size, and that would cost you $82.25 (s-17 balls, M-18balls, L-20 balls, xl-22 balls)

Actually, it’s not a worsted weight – the gauge is 6 sts/inch with US3 needles! I think if you found a yarn that knits to the right gauge, you’d be fine

I got the worsted weight from reading a few patterns that were knitted with it, and a few blog entries that wrote about it, that said it was worsted weight.
