Looking for specific yarn

Hi, Everyone:
I have searched the Internet and this web site for information on a particular type of sock yarn, and I am having a very difficult time finding good results.

Due to allergies and young skin, I am looking for a good, superwash, lace-weight merino wool that is also part silk or nylon, for strength. I would like to have a variety of colors as well. Maybe I’m asking for too much. Does anyone know where I can find these items that aren’t onesie-twosies on ebay?

This is probably going to be a tough one, but I would try www.yarnmarket.com and on the left, fill the blanks on weight/fibre/etc. and see what you can come up with. The other one to try would be www.loopyewe.com.

What about this? http://www.yarnmarket.com/yarn/South_West_Trading_Company_Yarn-Tofutsies_Yarn-3350.html

look at www.woolgirl.com.

Thanks, Brittyknits. The yarn finder didn’t find anything, and I either find 100% merino superwash, or wool blend super wash that aren’t merino. :frowning:

I do like this Loopy ewe site!

The wool blend on yarnmarket looks nice, Brittyknits–just trying to get merino. I’ve always been sensitive, and the book I got recommends merino for sensitivities. If I can’t find anything else, I can use this site for my “pretty” socks. So thanks!

I found the superwash, merino, lace, etc, at http://home.gwi.net/~tessyarn/new%20page%207.htm. But, no colors. :frowning:

I am being too picky I think…that or I will be paying $40-50.00 per pair of socks.

What about Regia? Regia has their stretch, with nylon, or Regia Silk which I think is superwash merino and silk. There are a bunch of different sock yarns that are superwash merino combined with either nylon or silk. If you look on the loopy ewe (linked above by brittyknits) you should be able to find a few.

Hi, lauraknits:
I just ordered some Regia, because of the solids and selection. I didn’t see their merino wool, but the prices were great.

Thanks,
Leni :cheering:

knit picks machine-washable yarns

if you scroll down, they have a few merino/nylon blends.

Thanks. I did see these guys. I was told by my daughter that the color selection must include pink, and I am not into dying the fibers, at least, not yet. I believe that is finger-weight, too.

I’m starting to feel that I am being way too picky. That’s why I selected the Regia.

Thank to everyone who has answered!
