Looking for Shawl to wear over wedding gown

Good Morning! My DH’s daughter is getting married in April… her gown (so so beautiful) is an off the shoulder. I would like to knit a shawl for her to wear from the church to the hall and so on. Any ideas?- nothing too complicated lol. I only have until April. :noway:  Thank you!

I guess part of this depends on what you consider too complicated. This is too much for me, but here is an idea.

yes knit the I do Shrug …u cannot go wrong with that piece …i made those and love it … let me know if you got question on the pattern

Beautiful. But I do not think it will work with the style of dress. It is an off the shoulder type gown … not strappless… but kind of drapes right below the shoulder. (clear as mud right? lol) I do not have a picture…

Not quite sure what you’re looking for, but here’s a few…

This one is beautiful…as soon as I finish what’s on my needles ( ) I’m going to make it

Print O’ The Wave Stole

I finished two Ruffles and Ridges from Fiber Trends. I made one in less than a week. Made with DK weight and size 9 needle. http://www.fibertrends.com/viewer/V5_accessories.html

I don’t know if that link will take you right to the Ruffles and Ridges.

Also Knitting Pure and Simple has an Easy Lacy Poncho also made with DK weight

There is a pic of one I made in my blog located in my siggie.

There is a new book out called wedding knits . Maybe you can check that out of the library and see if there’s anything you like.

That is gorgeous! and a possible future project… I keep going back to look at it! lol. But I only have evenings to work on this and feel that I should keep it simple. :cheering: Thank you though! anne

what about Lily Chin’s Reversible Rib Shawl from Vogue Knitting: American Collection? I know it’s cheating, but if you “look inside this book” the pattern is one of the few you can get to…

here is a pic of someone’s finished shawl.

Wow! I think I need to make a trip to Borders. That is beautiful… do they usually give the written instructions as well as the chart? The print is so small I can not read it very well lol.

there are written instructions, but it’s mostly just to tell you how to use the chart…

I just finished this Lace Shawl from Knit Picks and it’s lovely. I did it in Lagoon Heather, but it would be just gorgeous in white, although in the yarn on the site there is only a Cream Color. This yarn is 100% Baby Alpaca so I’m sure you can find it in white somewhere else.

Just scroll down and you can download the free pattern.

This was my first attempt at a Lace Pattern and it’s very easy and knits up pretty quick.

Hope you like it.
