Hi folks. I made a cardigan on circular needles that was in one piece from the bottom up. I loved it because I didn’t have to make sure my sleeves and back/front had the same number of rows, etc. Any suggestions on where to find one-piece patterns? I checked the local knitting shop, but they didn’t have what I was looking for. I would guess that I am Higher-intermediate or lower advanced knitter
Check out The Incredible Custom-fit Raglan Generator at www.woolworks.org/patterns/raglan.html . It allows you to create a top-down raglan pullover or cardigan, one piece, using any yarn and needles. I’ve used it for both a bulky pullover and a worsted cardigan and loved it.
Top-down is nice, too, because you can try it on as you go to check the length.
Whaaaa! Those pattern generators look like great tools, but also intimidating. I’m sure that once you start with them they are user-friendly, but it’s just one of those mind-over-matter, fear of the untried kind of things. I am definitely going to have dive right in! (One of these days.)
If you want to follow this pattern have a look in Ravelry, There are hundreds of variations of this sweater in all the colours of the rainbow.
It’s bottom up and a really nicely written pattern.
Knitty also has a bottom up raglan called Top Secret - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/topsecret
Another ‘bottom up’ sweater.
It’s kind of cute…
There’s a great bottom up sweater in this newsletter. I just queued it on Ravelry. :yay:
It’s free and she has this link on Rav.
And then we have ‘DROPS’ patterns… I like this one.
I’m still waiting for my invitation from Ravelry to be processed. :poke:
