Hi knitters! I’m trying to help out my Mom. In 1979, she found a stocking pattern in a magazine that had some pink pages in the middle where a pattern was located. She thinks it was either a McCalls or a Redbook. Anyway, fast forward 44 years and she wants to knit two more for grandsons. It was a mixture of stockinette on the toe and heel and garter stitch everywhere else. Does anyone know of this pattern?
Looking for Christmas Stocking pattern from 1979
Could it be this? https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/patterned-stockings
Maybe if you contact the users that have made it they would be kind enough to send you a picture of the page? https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/patterned-stockings/people
This person left notes https://www.ravelry.com/projects/kathskrafts/patterned-stockings-3
This person says she has the pattern book https://www.ravelry.com/projects/nancyg1/patterned-stockings
I wonder if you could measure the gauge in garter and look for a similar pattern that could be adapted to the stripe pattern.

Even a pattern in stockenette could be adapted.
Maybe something like this https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knit-christmas-stocking You would have the basic instructions but if she did it in garter instead of stockinette with chunky yarn it would look pretty similar.
