Looking for an easy earflap hat pattern

Wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a relatively easy earflap hat pattern. (say that 10 times fast  ) I want to make one for myself but not super tight ( I have fluffy hair and I hate that mushed bangs look  ) or too pointy and a pretty easy to follow pattern. I know, it’s a lot to ask but I just know you guys have so many cool connections and ideas I just had to ask.

Someone posted this one last week…

I haven’t made it yet but I’m getting close!

:XX: I just made this hat: http://www.knitlist.com/95gift/ski.htm – the pattern was listed under the “patterns” tab. It was a fun hat to make, and I finished it completely in two days. Here is a pic of the hat I made: http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7389.

I used 10 1/2 needles and made the mens size, as I also have big hair! I’d like to make another one and try some color striping or maybe even a charted design on the front – something I haven’t yet tackled.

I’ve made 2 from the pattern Holly posted. Very easy, fun, and it knits up quickly. And, my kids actually wear them :happydance:

Here’s one I’ve seen and I’m sure you could adjust it any way you needed to because it’s very easy to knit up.

I made one in a few hours for my sister and she like it. Hope I helped!

i made this one last week http://www.plasticsoul.org/18seconds.html

It does have cables but i’ve only been knitting a month and i finished the project over two nights it was pretty easy (you know, while watching law and order or something. I did it twice the first time i followed her gauge and the hat needed to be blocked it was tiny (and i have a 21 1/2" head!) So i did a second one up using 10 1/2" needles (which is what brown sheep bulky asks for anyway). It was my first hat and first cable project… It’s super cute. Otherwise take a look at Interweave Knits which has a PDF with a bunch of different earflap patterns at http://www.interweave.com/knit/interweave_knits/web_projects/win_05/Cover_Ears.pdf

good luck!

Thanks everyone! I knew I could count on you guys for guidance! You all are awesome you know that?! :cheering:

I’ve put this on the back burner for now until I can find some really cool yarn. Besides, my wool of the andes yarn showed up over the weekend so I’ve started a bag I’m going to felt. It’s hard having such a short attention span. :rofling:
