Hello everyone,
Years ago (like 40) when I learned to knit, one of my very frist projects was a mohair cardegan. I’ve long since lost the sweater, but I’m interested in recreating the stitch. I have several referrence books, Mon Tricot, Vogue, Barbara Walker, etc. But I have not seen this particular one in it. It was a 4 stitch repeat based entirely on knit (no purl stitches, even on the back side) I remember there were slipped stitches involved. About every 4th row you slipped one stitch over some other stitches forming a bump.
The overall effect was similar to blackberry stitch, but less thick through and more supple. If I still had the sweater I could recreate the stitch, but I’m working from memory here. Anybody have a clue what I’m talking about? OTOH, it could be of my own invention, since I was so new at knitting and I didn’t have anyone helping me at all, just going by the book. :teehee:
