Looking for a match
Hi! I am Liz from Michigan/Alabama. This year when I left for Alabama I decided to again bring my knitting. I have had one project tucked into a bag for 25 years. A friend asked to see it and encouraged me to finish it! It iwas a Irish sweater for my teenager who is now an attorney, married, and a mother of three. I have finished the second front of the cardigan (the back and one side were completed 25 years ago. I have two skeins of aran left…probably not enough to finish. The yarn is an acrylic worsted.

I have gone to a few shops to find a match with not too much luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe this far along I should tell you that the yarn does not have a label. So…Help! I agree, this is a great site! Thanks

If you can find a very similar yarn you might be able to make both sleeves out of the different yarn and save the old yarn for the button bands and neck band. Maybe that would be passable. Or…maybe you could make it into a neat vest. :slight_smile:

My DHs favorite shirt has different colored sleeves from body, so I think that’s a great idea. See if you can find a similar color but several shades darker and do the sleeves with that. Alternately white/offwhite, grey or black sleeves could also be attractive.
