Looking for a hat pattern for chemo patient

Hi, my mother-in-law is under going chemo. I am making her a scarf at the moment and would like to make a hat to match it. I have seen the headhuggers sites. But the scarf I’m making is a delicate lace scarf with mohair. Here is a link to the scarf: http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter07/PATThalcyon.html (I’m making it in white(natural) crystal palace natural) I was thinking I could maybe knit a hat (with an edge that matches the scarf) with one strand kid merino and another strand of baby DK. Would that look any good?
