Looking for A Group On Elmendorf AFB, AK

I am new to knitting and have a friend that just found out she is pregnant. I would love to make a blanket, some booties, and and cute little hat. :smiley: At this point I have not even figured out purling. :doh: I am so frustrate and really need a group to be able to meet with. If anyone is in the near area and knows of a great group that I can meet with I would love to hear!!! :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: Or even if we want to start a little group here on the base. :?? Maybe even move from one person’s house to another each week. SO let me hear what you think and I will continue to keep practicing!!! :cheering: :lol: :cheering: :lol:

I’m sorry I can’t be of more service. But I wanted to say hi, because I grew up in Anchorage, right near Elmendorf. I’m sure there is a group, but maybe not a lot of members here. Have you checked the Local Yarn Stores?

I don’t know the zipcode for the base, but since I know it’s near Anchorage I used that one in a search. There are a lot of yarn stores there and a lot of times they have information about local groups or even have their own. Here’s a few links I found.

I looked up a couple of the yarn stores and this the only one I found in this group that had a website, but it does have lots of classes.

Oh and I wanted to say…if the base has a community website or bulletin board you could post a message and find out who else knits and start your own group. :wink:

Thank you for the help. I would still like to maybe start a on base group so we could get together once a week. If anyone does get on that is from ElmendorfAFB please write me so we may get togther.
