Long stitch

These are the instructions in the pattern (nothing about going into a lower row): Wrapping yarn twice around needle, purl the next stitch, pulling both wraps through the stitch, creating 2 stitches from one stitch. My question, how do you “pull both wraps through the stitch”?
Thanks!

When you knit normally, with one wrap about the needle, you pull one stitch through, right? In this case, you wrap the yarn around the needle twice and pull both those wraps through the stitch.

Would using a crochet hook make it easier? The second wrap tightens up when I try to get both stitches.

Don’t make the wraps tight, keep them loose and you shouldn’t need a hook.

Thank both of you for answering my question! I am we’ll on my way with the pattern.
