I’m making this for one of my DGDs who adores lions. http://marilynsknittingheavenonearth.blogspot.com/2006/09/lion-cloth_27.html

I don’t understand how the mane is done, slthough near the bottom of the page she refers to leaving large loops. :??

Any suggestions?

You’re right, she sure isn’t too specific about how she does it. I don’t think it’s actually a knitting stitch though - I think she’s just using a tapestry needle and yarn to thread large loops through to the front of the cloth. Not sure how each loop is secured though.
