Lion pattern help

So, this pattern wants me to knit every row for the top knot cord and at the end of the row slip the stitches back on the left hand needle to work next row.

I have made this hat once and could not figure out how to do this so I just turned and knitted every row.

When I slip the stitches back on the left needle the yarn is at the wrong end. Does that make sense?

So how do I do this? Yes, I really am this dense. :rofling:

No, you aren’t dense…it does seem weird till you’ve done it before. It’s just an I-cord and the only reason they are asking you too move it to the other needle is because they aren’t using DPNs. If you have them use them instead so you can just slide your work to the other end of the needle.

And yes… you don’t turn your work with an I-cord. You just slide the knitting to the other end and pull the yarn across the back. Here’s a link to Amy’s video.

Yeah, I got the icord thing down but when I try to be a good girl and do what they say it doesn’t work.

When I slide them all over the working yarn comes from the last stich instead of the first stitch on the needle. So I was wondering how they want you to do that? :??

That’s what it’s supposed to do. You will always be looking at the “front” of the work and when you slide your cord to the other end or switch needles the working yarn will come from the “wrong” end or first stitch. Just pull it across and start knitting again and pull it a little tightly so the cord forms.

Ooooh, okay, got it.

Thanks!
