Lion hat?

I’m wondering if anyone knows how to make a lion hat.im going to make one on a loom for my son. I found out how to make a hat and some ears for like a bear, monkey and I’m figuring those might work.im just confused on how to add hair on it lol. Does anyone know how to add hair to a hat?

seems like you’d be able to add it the same/similarly as doing fringe on a scarf or blanket. smaller lengths of yarn (2-4 pieces at a time) looped through outer stitches using a crochet hook… staci @ verypink.com has a simple tutorial on it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpJTKwwHbIs

Tassels are a good idea for the mane. You might also take a look at loop stitch.

Here’s an example in an adult hat. You can make the loops as long or short as you like.
