Link Glitch w/"Free Videos" re. Slipped Sts

I just tried to check on Slipped Stitches: p-wise or k-wise? so I clicked on the supposed link.

I was a little (a lot!) surprised when I was whooshed! to the video on Gauge Swatches for Circular Knitting (aka Knitting in the Round).

So:

  1. Please fix the link

  2. Are slipped sts to be p-wise unless otherwise stated?

Slip sts should be done purlwise, except for decreases which are done knitwise. This only refers to how you insert the needle and not where the yarn is. The default on the yarn is to leave it in back unless it says otherwise - ‘slip 1 wyif’ for instance.

Need more info… where were you when the glitch occurred? In the glossary or in the video section? Continental or English video? Was it both of them that linked incorrectly or just one of them?

@ Suzeeq: Thx. I thought purlwise was the default, but having done a lot of work on the Summer Flies Shawl yesterday, realized after a large section that I had mindlessly been slipping them knitwise. sigh Thought I’d better check, so thx.

@ Jan in CA: I was in the videos, and this is one that doesn’t have a Continental or English option. On this page: http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips “Slipping a Stitch: p-wise or k-wise?” is the name of the video I was looking for, but the other one came up instead. There’s only the one video option. thx.

Things must be very busy behind the scenes; the circular gauge video is still what I get from the “slipped sts” video.

Sheldon and Amy were out of town for a week when you first posted; it’s one of the things on his ‘to do’ list.

OK, I found another oddity night before last and PM’d Sheldon.

Does anyone know whether The Powers That Be are out of town again (like last time)? The glitch isn’t fixed, and I haven’t received a response to my PM.

Just lucky, I guess…exploring paths of interest, I seem to fall across broken links or something. :???:

Which one do you want and which one is the problem?

A bunch of the videos are on You Tube maybe the one you want… ?

I’m not sure where Sheldon is. I’ll see if I can contact him.
