Finally realized that if the cable is too short even for flat items, knitting is more difficult. Yarn is beginning to move along the needles more easily. Maybe the needles just need a little abrasion from being used. Also, just occurred to me that if the occasion should arise where I’m having difficulty knitting to gauge - just maybe using two different size needles on one cable would provide a possible solution.

On the needles: another dog sweater (my 3rd) Maggie jinxed the 2nd one since it wasn’t for her, lol. In spite of mistakes, it still fit Pepper. Hope he’ll keep it on long enough to get a good photo to share.
