Life gets in the way of knitting

That’s a start but they need to also ban text messaging, laptop computers, books, magazines, and eating cereal (yeah I’ve actually seen people driving with their elbows while they eat out of a bowl).

Any time one is behind the wheel and doing ANYTHING other than being focused on driving they are in a 2,000+ lbs missle with no-one in control.

Ok, off my soap box now.

That’s pretty much what they are doing. They are banning any use of a handheld device. Anything you can hold in your hand while driving- like a cellphone, blackberry, portable GPS- will be banned. It’s a good start for sure, but I agree, people need to smarten up and pay attention. There is no reason to be eating cereal and driving at the same time!

I work long hours but I find knitting relaxes me. On days when I don’t have to be at work early, I sit and knit for 15 minutes or so before work. I go to a knitting group one night a week when I can. I also visit my Mom at the assisted living and knit while I sit there. That is about it, but you would be surprised how much one can get done just knitting a few minutes here and there.

I too have not masterd the art of knitting while driving. I have thought about it but probably would not live long enought to finish a project!!

I agree that knitting is comforting and relaxing. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have a WIP to pick up when I sit down. It’s also saved me from many a boring ‘sports’ night on t.v.
I’d die of boredom and eat myself to death if my hands didn’t have some lovely soft yarn to work thru.
