Leg warmer pattern

Hi Guys!

my pattern is very simple:

Cast on 46 sts.

Work 13 ins. in K2P2 ribbing as given in the previous pattern
(which i think basically boils down to K2. *P2. K2 to end of row. then the next row P2. *K2. P2 to end of row. continue alternating)

Question 1: But it says to work those 13 ins of ribbing “ending with the RS facing for next row.” What does that mean?

Question 2: It says to “cast off in ribbing”… is that a different kind of cast off? do i need to do anything particular?

thanks!!

‘ending with RS facing’ means the last row you do before the next set of instructions should be a right side row (or what will be the outside of your legwarmer). In a simple rib pattern like this, it may not matter which is RS and which is WS (wrong side).

‘cast off in ribbing’ means that while you’re casting off, knit the knits and purl the purls. Knit 1, knit the next, pass the 1st over the 2nd, purl the next, pass the previous over it, purl the next, pass the previous over it, knit the next, pass the previous over it… etc.

i would like to see one of your FO’s of leg warmers
i really want to make some.

thank you very much! will let you know how it goes
