Left Cross

I have no idea what this means……I’m making like a shawl thing…and this is like the 8th row and I’m already lost lol

This is verbatim what the book has written as the pattern:

Left Cross: SL 6 sets pwise, dropping extra wraps.

-Insert left needle from left to right into 4th, 5th, 6th sets on right needle and pull these sts over the first 3 sts right needle and onto left needle. Transfer 3 sts from right needle to left needle. P6, being careful to keep sts in new order.

My right needle only has 5 stitches on it atm….and the next stitch on my left needle is a knit/wrapped 3 times.

Someone help me because I have NO IDEA how to do this.

Hello
This would be a good stitch to try out on a small swatch first, you could cast on 16 stitches with a different yarn and give it a go before you tackle your main project. 16 stitches will give you 2 crosses to try an the k2 at each end.

On your main project this Indian cross starts after a marker so ignore the stitches before the marker on your right needle, you won’t be touching them.
K2 (I think you’ve done this)
The next 6 stitches are each wrapped 3 times. You’ll drop the 3 wraps off the needle and slip the stitch to the right needle (purlwise), then do this 5 more times.
The 6 stitches are on the right needle.
Call the stitch nearest the tip of the needle stitch 1, then 2 and so on, to 6.
Then an action like binding off, lift stitches 4, 5 and 6 over 3, 2, and 1, but don’t let them drop off the needle, instead slip them onto the left needle.
If you hold the needle tips point to point the new order of stitches would be 4, 5, 6 and 1, 2, 3.
Slip stitches 1, 2 and 3 to the left needle.
Then purl each stitch.
That’s 6 stitches worked and 1 cross made.

Repeat with the next 6 stitches.

If you find it hard to lift the stitches over all at once you can move them one at a time, just be sure to reorder them as described.

Hope this helps

Welcome to KH!
Here’s a video for a similar cross. It has a different number of sts but the idea is the same.
