Leah's Lace Shawl

I finished and blocked the Leah’s Lace Shawl I have been working on for the last month. I ended up using my front porch with multiple towels to save the shawl from Pippi (kitten) claws. I used Bad Sheep yarn on colorways: Fox, Gold Rush and Pacquerette (rust multicolored, golden and white/yellow) using US 7needles on 40" circular cable. This was my very first shawl and my first serious lace attempt. I am really happy with how it turned out. My mother had called dibs on it when she saw me working on it via Zoom, but she didn’t survive a bout with a bowel obstruction and died 10/24/22. I will give it to one of my kids or wear it myself in her honor.IMG_1725

I’m sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. It’s always hard.
Your shawl is lovely both in color and pattern. I’m sure it’ll be a good reminder of your mother and a way to honor her.

It’s absolutely beautiful!!

Spot,
Thank you; I’ve put it away for my oldest daughter for a holiday gift.

My condolences for the loss of your mother. We lost my mother in 2004 and I still catch myself thinking that I need to call momma and tell her this and that.
As for your shawl, it is absolutely gorgeous!

Sknitter56,
Thank you for your kind words - I do find myself thinking every day, Oh I need to tell Mom…it’s not painful as much as kind of empty.

My daughter loves her shawl and wears it thinking of her Grandma.
