I am making this lovely pattern

but I am wondering, how many stitches should I have after row 30 (Everything worked out at row 30, or so I thought) No matter how many times I restitch, I can’t seem to get row 31 correct, I always have extra stitches! I am thinking I messed up somewhere
Laura Doily
I haven’t worked out all the rows but row 28 leaves you with 120sts when completed, row 29 leaves you with 112sts, and rows 30 and 31 leave you with 128sts.
I find markers a big help with lace. If you use 8 markers that should help you figure out where the problem is. Each section has 16sts after row 30. Row 31 starts and ends with 16sts/section.
Lovely pattern!
Thank you so much for clarifying- here is what I decided to do. I had wanted to use/make the doily as a rug pattern, but it didn’t turn out to be as big as I thought. So I made it into a hat… which gave me an idea. What if I just make the doily on small needles and make that fussy hat with all the wonky instructions? So now I am working on the doily part which will be the crown. I will use the rest of the pattern (hopefully there will be no issues- and it will be my own take on the hat- I think mine will be prettier anyway!) I will post a picture when I am finished!
That sounds like a good way to combine this pattern with the crazy hat pattern. It’ll be lovely used in the crown. Looking forward to the photo.
