Lasted finished project - Scarf w/fun fur edge

fun fur wasn’t much fun trying to get this scarf done in a weeks time. I knit the middle of the scarf in garter stitch and used a crochet hook to add the three strans of fun fur.

luuurve the look - fake fur looks sooo purty but, i know what you mean about working with it! hate that fiddley thin strand that disappears in a heap of fuzz and impossible to frog! and no elasticity! grrrr. Great job, i’m especially impressed with anyone who can crochet and knit - i’ve never been able to wrap my brain around crochet!

Tha scarf is beautiful! I love the look of the fun fur just around the edge. C’mon now, though- don’t chop your face off in your pictures!!

Very pretty!

Oooh, the scarf is lovely! The fun fur embellishment looks really nice! Did you also make the sweater you’re wearing? I really like it, too!

Nice! I like to color too!

Thanks for all the kudos on the scarf and understanding about the difficulties with not so fun fur!
The woman in the picture isn’t me, it’s our dear sweet nanny. I just wanted a close up of the scarf but will post another with her in it. I believe her sweater is store bought not hand knit. So no I did not knit it.

I taught myself to crochet with an old 1970’s book by Sunset. If I can do it you can do it.

Question: I am looking at a pattern that calls for a guage of 28 stithes across and 50 rows! Fifty rows!!! Who ever heard of such a thing?
Can one cut it in half and say do 25 rows for two inches instead of 50 for four inches? Or 12.5 for a quarter of the 50? I am lazy when it comes to guages. gauges.

Also if the pattern calls for a yarn like casemere that I know to be expensive and I want to subsitute for a less expensive yarn anyway of knowing without doing a gauge how thick or thin it has to be?

Now you can see the whole of our lovely Yumi.

Oh, Yumi is beautiful! Shame on you for cutting off her head!

I’m not a fan of fun fur, but I do like the edging with it! Very pretty!

Fun fur really isn’t much fun, but your scarf looks wonderful!

You are all too kind. Thanks. I love getting the feedback. Lynn

Great job! Love the color!

Very pretty!

That is BEAUTIFUL!!!

I bought some fun fur on sale and have yet to figure out what I am going to do with it. I love what you did! Perhaps I will give that a try. I am in the process of making myself a small scarf with Homespun… :??

Cute! Beautiful color!!
