Hi,
This is my first time EVER to log onto any type of Forum! Big step for me and computers. My question is what do I do with the last stitch of a knitted scarf? I watched the casting off video and followed instructions of knit one and pull the second stitch over the first. I have one stitch left but no instructions are offered. Can someone help me? Do I tie some type of knot. I have never knitted before.
Leave about 6 to 8 inches of ‘tail’. Normally I run it through the loop of the last stitch and pull it tight. Then weave in your end. There are a lot of different ways of doing this. Look at the invisible seaming videos.
Welcome to the site!

Congratulations to on taking up knitting and finishing a scarf. :woot:
You can pull the tail through as Albert said, and there is one other way to finish that I didn’t learn until recently and it works very nicely and in many cases looks a little better that the “pull the tail through the loop” method. On this one you have your last loop on the needle after binding off. Leave the needle in the loop. Cut your yarn so that you have a tail to work in, now lift up on your needle stretching the loop up and up until the end pops though and nothing is on the needle anymore. Now work in the tail.
