Large loop in knitting?

Hi,

I am fairly new to knitting and I’m working on my first project on circular needles, a garter stitch shawl using yarn overs to increase at the start of each row.

A large loop has appeared right near the beginning of my work. It doesn’t seem to be a dropped stitch, I’m pretty sure I have accidentally knitted into the stitch below. I’ve done so many rows since then and I really don’t want to frog the whole thing.

Does anyone have any ideas about how I could fix this or make it less obvious?

Thanks!
Vivi

Welcome to the forum!
Try pinching the loop so that you shorten it’s length. If that closes up the hole, you can distribute the extra yarn into the the adjoining sts all along the row. If it’s just an extra long stitch and loop of yarn this should work well. Use a smaller needle, a tapestry needle or a crochet hook to gently share the extra yarn along several sts.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try.
