Large eyelets or holes? Urgent!

Hi all,
I am knitting an infant hat and want to weave some ribbon through it. I tried making a standard K2tog yo eyelet, but it is far too small of a hole to pass a 5/8" ribon through and I really want to use this specific ribbon.

Does anyone know of a way to create a larger opening so I can pass thr ribbon through easily?

Thanks!

There are a few things you could try.

A double yarn over creates a bigger hole/eyelet. You still k2tog after it.

You could do a one row buttonhole since they can be made any size. If the hat is knit in the round they would be horizontal though and not vertical.

Thanks! I ended up making some large eyelets that go across three rows. If it comes out nice, I’ll post a pic!

The info here might help, perhaps…?
