Lace pattern help

I got this little pattern from one of the nice ladies at the LYS yesterday and when I tried to start it, it wasnt coming out right. I was assuming the [B][I]yf[/I][/B] was the same was yarn over (as in I bring my yarn forward, slip my sts, then bring it back to the back), but then I cant knit with my yarn in the front, I would have to purl. Im so confused, please help. Am I not understanding what YF means? Heres the pattern

Multiples of 6+1
[B]Row 1: k1, *yf, sl 1, k1, psso, k1, k2tog, yf, k1, rep. from * to end[/B]
[B]Row 2: Purl[/B]
[B]Row 3: k2, *yf, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yf, k3; Rep. from * to last 5 sts, yf, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yf, k2[/B]
[B]Row 4: Purl[/B]

Its the last [B]yf[/B] that Im not understanding. Thanks!

Yes, it does mean to bring your yarn to the front but you don’t leave it there. Bring it forward, sl the next stitch, knit the stitch after than and psso. Even though the slipped stitch is in between the yo and k1, the yf will make a YO when you k1. And the last one does too, bring the yf then knit 1 - it’s a YO.
