I need some help to understand the instructions ( for chart 6 ).
I am not understand why the chart 6 is showing 2 parts. At first I thought I just need to work on the bottom chart, and just repeat the middle 8-sts for total 11 times.
But what about the top chart that I circled in green?
You’re making good progress with this lace hoodie.
The smaller chart has increases at the edges (the yarn overs at the beginning and end of the chart). The larger chart repeats the same lace pattern but no longer has the increases at the edges. Since this hoodie is worked top-down, the increaes may be for the raglan lines.
If you read further in the pattern there may be reference to working the larger chart at some point after the increases at the raglan in the smaller chart have been worked.
I thought so too, but I don’t see any reference for that.
Please correct me if I am wrong for chart 6 as below.
I will work the increases chart 6 from row 1 to 15 ONCE. Then I will start the top section of chart 6 (Row 1 to 15) for the rest till I meet total 96 chart row worked.
My total sts after 96 chart row worked is 211 sts., if I count it correctly.
But then the next instruction is … Knit, dec 2 sts evenly across – 193 sts.
I once had this pattern issue but no longer. If you work the lower chart 6 does that give you enough width for the bust and enough length from neck to the end of the raglans? It seems like it’s not enough sts across the chart (even working the repeat 11 times).
If it does fit when you hold it up to you or measure it against a similar raglan sweater then go ahead and work the upper chart 6.
These projects are also size small and seem to have more increase rows (lower chart 6) than just one repeat.
How many sts do you have before you start the lower part of chart 6? The chart has 97sts to begin which includes the repeat x11. It ends with 113sts.
Repeats of the upper part of chart 6 won’t increase the stitch count.
This is a confusing instruction for the chart when there are two charts in one and possibly no reference to how many times to work the bottom one or when to work the top one. I keep looking at it thinking it will make sense eventually.
Is this the back of the cardigan?
Here is a contact page for pattern help, just incase this isn’t cleared up here.
I imagine they would respond within a few days or so
After the set up you’ll have 195sts. Work the upper chart 6 with repeats and no further increases. When finished, decrease 2sts ~evenly across the row ending with 193sts total.
