Lace edging for beginner- suggestions please

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on a fairly easy but pretty lace edging to try. My daughter is making her First Communion this spring, and I thought maybe I would try to make an edging for the bottom of her veil. I would appreciate any guidance on needle size, tips or a pattern suggestion. Thanks so much!
