Good evening, all!
I am trying to knit up the Knit Picks Generations Purse. For some reason, I can’t even get through the first pattern row! I have torn it out and knitted it at least four times, and I still have no clue where I could be going wrong. I usually never have this much trouble getting something right.
Could you please take a look at this line of pattern and tell me if there is any place where you think it would be easy to screw up? Either that or just pat me on the head and tell me I’ll get it eventually.
The pattern is: k2, p1, k2tog, yo twice, skp (slip, knit, psso), p1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k3, skp, k1, k2tog, k3, yo, k1, yo, skp, k2, p1, k2tog, yo twice, skp, p1, k3
Thanks for your time
Rebecca
I think that I would personally have trouble keeping track of the “yo twice”. That’s just me though, and I can get easily confused at times.
Hmm, how many stitches do you have prior to this row?
I like to count my stitches at the end of most rows, but especially when a pattern like this has yos and decreases. So, I’ll do for you what I’d do for me, if this were pattern, which is lay out the stitch count:
k2, p1,(3 sts) k2tog(4 sts), yo twice COLOR=“SeaGreen”, skp (slip, knit, psso),(7 sts) p1(8 sts), k2tog(9 sts), yo(10 sts), k1COLOR=“SeaGreen”, yo(12 sts), k3(15 sts), skp(16 sts), k1( 17 sts), k2tog(18 sts), k3(21 sts), yo,(22 sts) k1(23 sts), yo(24 sts), skp(25 sts), k2(27 sts), p1(28 sts), k2tog(29 sts), yo twice(31 sts), skp(32 sts), p1, k3(36 sts)
And, I can see now that I’ve gone through it that the total for this row does not increase nor decrease, so if I’ve counted correctly, you should start and with 36 stitches.
