Is anyone interested in joining along on the Koolhaas hat from IK Holiday Gifts? I have other WIPs but I just couldn’t resist casting on for this. I’m using Malabrigo.
i really do like that hat. every time i look at it, it makes me think of acorns. i’ll have to think about casting on, though. i have a slew of other knitting to do for christmas. thank goodness i’ve already started. 
Sounds fun! I have a lot of things that need finishing but its a really cool hate so I will join you in a KAL. I have a yummy Handpainted Baby Alpaca that I got from [I]My Favorite Yarn Shop[/I] at the Shenadoah Valley Fiber Fest this past weekend.
I love that pattern!! I need to finish some OTNs first though. I bet it will be yummy in Mmmmmmmmm!
I am thinking of making that for me in Mmmmm as well. If if turns out OK, I have more yarn to make one for my oldest DD. :woot:
I have Koolhaas in my queue. I’m still looking for some hot pink washable yarn for it, because that’s the color my niece wants for her hat. 
Well I frogged my first attempt with the mmmm. Not that the yarn isn’t great. Might be my tension but I didn’t like how the stitch definition didn’t show up too well. Could have been the colorway too. Anyway, I started over with Cider Moon Glacier and I am much happier. I’ll take a pic tomorrow!
I got through the ribbing part and just started the pattern. Ugh! It really takes a ton of concentration.

That color is great! It does take a bit of concentration. But I am tring again with no cable needle (thanks to Grumperina’s tutorial) and it is going great. I had tried once without the cable needle and didn’t really “get” it. But it seemed to have clicked.

Done! I just love the pattern and the decreases are so ingenious in maintaining the pattern. Not using a cable needle is definitely the way to go especially with it just being 1 stitch cables.
I’ll definitely do another in some different yarn.

Count me in. I LOVE the look of this cap. I bought some green Pastazza and some brown Cascade 220 yesterday for this project. I should have just checked my stash since it only take one skein. I have some unused Malabrigo around here as well. I just need to grab my needles and pick which yarn to start with.

My Koolhaas is still in the beginning stages. I have gotten side tracked with some Xmas projects and haven’t had a chance to get back to knitting the hat. 
I hope to get working on it again soon.
No, it is in the Holiday Gifts issue. But I have seen it in stores still, so you should be able to buy it. I just saw it today actually.

I cast on Koolhaas this morning. I have the ribbed band finished and now need to switch needles. Still at work, so I may not get the time…I think I brought the size 8s.
