I made this for a coworkers Christmas gift. The pattern can be purchased on the Interweave Knits site or found in the 2007 Holiday edition of the magazine.
The yarn is Malabrigo worsted in Velvet Grapes.
Just a note: In this pattern Malabrigo relaxed quite a bit and the hat grew. I was dead on with gauge before it was washed and then it stretched. I would recommed going down a needle size or in my case 2!!!
Koolhaas and Calorimetry in Malabrigo
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! A quick and easy knit! The Malabrigo is so soft and warm.
I heard about a LOT of people having problems with this being too big so I cast on 100 stitches instead of 120 and mine fits fine. (I have a big head though.)
I chose the button because it reminded me of a snowflake which I thought was appropriate for a winter weather item!
Both are cute. I love the the color and the button on calorimetry.
oooh, those came out great! :cheering: What size needle did you use on the Koolhaas? I started one on 8s and didn’t like it. I know that Jared used 7s for the ones he did in Malabrigo.
very pretty!
I used 8’s because I have a decently tight gauge. I got gauge perfect but it stretched in the bath.
They both look great! Koolhaas is on my list of things to knit - thanks for the tip!
They both look great. I love how the colors turned out on the hat.
:blooby: Very pretty!!!
The yarn you used for the calorimetry is just beautiful! Perfect for this project!
both look great! i love how the colors came out.
They both look wonderful! :cheering:
Both are beautiful! I love the colors you chose, and you’re right about that button – it’s perfect!

Both look great.
