I was just wondering if anyone had tried dying yarn with kool aid. I just bought some plain yarn to knit with, and was going to try dying it with kool aid. It just seems like it would wash out, or at least fade a lot…
I’ve used it and found it surprisingly color fast, using vinegar as a mordant. The colors tend to be pretty bright.
I’ve done a lot of Kool aid stuff here’s photos. THe color can be really bright 
but if you experiment you can get more muted colors. It’s cheap and fun. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful! I was hoping to get some bright colors out of it, so that’s okay. Did you get that brown color using kool aid?
Yup. I used green and orange. I had to experiement a lot :roll:

I love the Kool Aid dying…It’s so much fun…I get my kids in on it when I dye my yarns with Kool Aid…
On a side note, my brother used to dye his hair with blue Kool Aid…nice vibrant blue…
