I looked in the how to videos and couldn’t find it and then did a search in the forum and came up empty. I am starting a Clapotis and the first row says p1, pfb. I went to try and went blank. How do I do this.
Same basic premise as a kfb.
First you purl the stitch as usual but DO NOT slide stitch off the left needle. Now you have to purl through the back of the stitch. Give yourself a little more slack on the newly created right needle loop. Place your right needle through the back leg of the stitch from left to right (parallel to left needle, with tips both facing to the right) and purl. Slide stitch off left needle.
Also, it may help to see this increase in action. If you look under Glossary on the tabs at the top of this page and go to p1fb aka pfb, you’ll find an excellant video. Hope the Clapotis turns out well!
let me tell you something. I HATE the purl through backloop!
I HATE it! it’s one of the most twisted stitches!
