Knitty's Trellis CORRECTIONS!

I’m about to start knitting Trellis from Knitty and there was a question about the gauge (says “in pattern”, but which pattern - seed stitch or the cables?!?). Anyway, I contacted the designer and this is what she replied:

Good Afternoon,

I’m so glad you wrote. Let’s see what I can do for you…

“4 inches in pattern” is refering to the cable pattern. It has the greatest impact on the gauge of the sweater.

I haven’t knit this pattern in one piece but I believe you probably could with minimal adjustments.

Finally, I’m attaching some corrections that unfortunately haven’t been updated on the pattern’s web page. They might be helpful before you begin.

Let me know if you need anything else and happy knitting! Britta

Trellis Pattern – Spring 2005

Back
In the 3rd line the instructions say to P 0[4, 8], work the charts and then again P 0[4, 8].

Next, in the 4th line the instructions say to work 37[43, 49] more rows in patt as set. This is confusing because if purl sts are work at the beg and end of each row, RS and WS, a garter st border will result. The 4 sts for the 12 month size and the 8 sts for the 18 month size should be worked in a reverse stockinette stitch.

Sleeves
For size 6 and 18 months work the Seed St border as follows:

Row 1: P1, [k1, p1] to end.

Every row is the same.

Like the instructions for the back, the sts on either side of the charted work should be worked in reverse stockinette stitch.
