Knitty Clapotis

I’m knitting the clapotis from Knitty and need some consultation.

Section 3 (Straight Rows)

Row 8 P1, remove marker […] k this and foll st tbl

Question: Do I knit these two stitches together through the back loop or separately?

I can’t get into knitty for some reason to double check the pattern, but I think they would say to k them tog tbl if that was the case. I’d knit them separately unless there are corresponding increases on the row.

I knitted each stitch separately through the back loop …not together… and all came out as per the pattern.
