KnittingHelp made the Minneapolis Star Tribune Newspaper!
Here’s the blurb:
This site bills itself as the “home to over 150 free knitting videos.” Beginners and casual knitters will find useful information here. Under basic techniques, for example, the videos cover seven different ways to cast on, five ways to do a knit stitch and many ways for increasing and decreasing. Advanced techniques include knitting on circular needles, making buttonholes and doing decorative stitches. The videos require Media Player or Quicktime, which can be downloaded for free from links on the site. There are lots of links to free patterns on other sites. The listing is arranged by categories, such as scarves and shawls. Many patterns are posted with pictures, and they are labeled according to skill level and needle size required. The site’s forums also are wonderful. Current topics allow you to post photos of your projects, get your knitting questions answered and post your patterns or links to favorite ones. One really neat forum is Knit-Along, where you can join others working on the same project or start your own. The responses are generally supportive and welcoming. You do need to register to post, but anyone can read the forums. It’s a site well worth bookmarking.
