Knitting

Hello. I was given a pattern which I like, however it chart work.
It’s tells me to repeat rows 1-26 (RS) - k1. (P2. K2) * p3. K2. P2. K2. * last 8sts P3 K2. P2. K1
Next row. P1. ( k2. P2.) * k3. P2. K2. P2. Last 8sts k3. P2. K2 p1. Sorted
Now I have to start working from the chart, I not sure what to do. This my first attempt at this. Please can someone help me. Puzzle this out. Thankyou

Work the knits and purls before the chart row for the given number of times for your size. Start working the chart in the lower right with row 1, sts 1-18 then repeat from stitch 1 to 18 for the number of times for your size. Once you’ve completed the repeats continue on with sts 19-28 of the chart and finally work the sts given to the end of the row.
Here’s a brief tutorial on reading charts.

What is the name of your pattern?

Artesano aran, fastnet by nick atkinson

Looks like a fun knit!

Thank you. I have a next question though. Sending the key chart, does the first row say for the 12sts to do. K2.- c2b - C2f - k2 - c2b - C2f - k2 - k2 - k2 or am I doing k2-c2b-c2b-k2-c2b-c2b-k2-k2-k2

For Row 1 of the chart, reading from the lower right toward the left:
P2, c2b, p2,c2b,p3,k2,p2,k2,p1
That’s the sts 1-18 repeat.

Thank you for help. It is easier to see when it written a format you understand.

Charts are different and take a bit of work to understand but they’re worth it. You can see the pattern in front of you as you work it. It’s really easier to follow in the end than long lines of instructions.
Good luck and enjoy working this lovely sweater.
