I was wondering if there was a good book to start learning about this. Thanks.
that was discussing this exact thing… I don’t remember which one it was, however, does anyone else know? It included book suggestions, etc.
Here is an article about it as well.
I am pretty sure that it was this author I heard on the podcast.
Here is a link to her book.
I just purchased from Borders “Knit and Crochet with beads” by Lily M. Chin. It has some great patterns.
This has kind of been on my to do list of things to do with knitting. I printed the article from knitty magazine. The prestranded still doesn’t make sense to me (after reading it, I haven’t tried yet) but the crotchet hook method is very simple. I am read to add beads. :cheering:
I made the belt/lariat from a pattern in that book…it was a dream to make and it drapes and feels out of this world.
Have fun with the beads.
I learned to knit with beads by watching the video from www.letsknit2gether.com. It’s a good one.
Here is a GREAT website that shows you how to knit with beads–without prestringing them:
Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone!
There is also this create website in regards to knitting beaded jewelry (some on size 0000 needles).
They have a great knitted/crochet leaf bracelet pattern that I’ve made. They also have other knitting stuff.
Lily Chin was on Knitty Gritty and showed a method for putton on beads. Might check the archives of HGTV or DIY for that episode.
