I’m using a free food diary/tracker app and portion control. I’m also using skills I learned in Weight Watchers years ago. 
That’s a wonderful, sensible method that you’ll be able to sustain. Good for you and congrats on reaching two goals. Enjoy the knitting treats too. You made great choices there too.
