Knitting through back and front

Hello, I hope someone can help! I am knitting a pattern from Stitch 'n Bitch Nation and am suffering through some aggravating stitches. Part of the pattern calls for sl right needle through next 3 sts as if to k, k through the front, back, and front of all 3 sts. Is this really possible? I can barely make it work with two! Has anybody out there used patterns from this book? They are cool but don’t seem tried, tested, and true…Just in case anyone has used this book, the pattern is on page 196-armwarmers. Thanks!

Oy. I just tried this out, and I couldn’t get it to work either.

I actually just took this book out from my local library, so I’m able to verify that that indeed is what it says. Maybe it’s an error in the pattern?

(By the way, the symbols in that chart are pretty awful, too. Kudos for even trying to get through it.)

Are you sure it doesn’t mean to knit through the front of the first st, the back of the second, and front of the third? I don’t think I’ve heard of this before so I don’t really know.

I’ve made the wristwarmers but am hard pressed to tell you exactly what I did at this stage; I’m in LA at the moment and my book is at home in England.

Perhaps you could try checking with Debbie herself! She’s on Myspace… She hasn’t logged on in several days - I know she’s got plans of doing a tour for the book so she might be away for that. A quick message to her couldn’t hurt!

Bloody hell! I don’t envy you! There might be some other ways to get around this stitch, but try loosening all three very thoroughly first (and knitting them loosely in future rows).

There’s some pattern corrections here - - though for Hurry up spring, it does say “[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][SIZE=-1][I]sl right needle through next 3 sts as if to k, k through the front, back and front of all 3 sts”
