I’m still knitting the Autumn Afternoons Cardigan… lots of fun!
I’ve done the right front and now the pattern tells me to do the left side like the right side but reverse the shaping…
I’m almost sure I know what that means… in my head… but my heart says I’m to make sure before I c.o.
My interpretation of this is…
RT Side says - C.O. 33 sts., Row 1, RS, K4 (for facing), sl 1, k to end of row.
Row 2 Purl
So I’m thinking the left side should read:
C.O. 33 sts.m Row 1 - Purl
Row 2 K4 (for facing), sl 1, k to end of row…
Or is it that I’m to do row 1 as Purl 4 (for facing) sl1, purl to end of row…
row 2 Knit
Hmmm… I guess I’m more confused than I thought?
HELP :waah:
Thanks,

You don’t need an extra row there, do Row 1 as - Knit to last 5 sts, sl 1, k4 - and just purl row 2. Just put the slip st at the end of the row instead of the beginning.
Whenever you’re to ‘reverse’ something you don’t do it ‘backwards’, you put the shaping or whatever at the other end of the row. For the armhole this may have you BO x sts at the beg of a RS row. You can’t BO at the end of a row, but you can BO at the beginning of the WS row instead. Dec can be done on a RS row, but at the end of it instead of at the beginning.
You always come through! :woot:
Thank you so much for this advice, Suzeeq… I so appreciate it. None of the things I thought it meant is what it meant…
I am in your debt!
Thank you, lovely lady!
